Aside from a thin-looking mount flange that doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence (and apparently has not survived knocks on some others’ copies), I can’t find anything to gripe about on the Panleica 100-400mm.
Added in with the Lumix 70-200mm f/4 and the Sigma zoom, I’m starting to question whether I really need the 90-280mm SL. And with m43 back in my arsenal, the Panleica 200mm f/2.8 is starting to look interesting.
At just over 1.5kg, camera and lens weigh ~300g less than the 90-280mm lens alone. Add the SL2 and the weight of the full-frame setup is nearly double that of the m43, and with a smidgen less than half the reach.
And as we all know, there’s no substitute for reach.
Except maybe reach that doesn’t weigh so much . . .
