Last from the vault . . .

. . . as real life is permitted to resume tomorrow . . .

Too much plenty of time to think these past few days, especially seeing what past gear could do compared to current. One sleeper lens that has caught my eye again is the Sony 70-350mm crop sensor telephoto (second shot below). Like the RF 100-400, it’s less than 700 grams.

Although it’s f/6.3 wide open at the long end, the superb sharpness/contrast gained by closing two-thirds of a stop made f/8 where I shot it all the time. It’s another possibility when considering sticking with crop sensor for Sony instead of adding a FF body.

There was also a rumor somewhere about an upcoming Sony APS-C model, one source claiming high end; but quickly shouted down by another rumor site as being only another vlogger option. Dunno what to believe. Just can’t wait to see what I already chose can do in my current shooting environment, which is radically different than most of where my previous a6400 got used.

Of course, it’s a school holiday weekend with heavy rain predicted for much of tomorrow. No problem, plenty of Billingham options in the closet! 😉 But light, well . . .
