Without having to rush today, I was able to frame and focus with better results than yesterday. It was a relief to see that the M9’s rangefinder is accurate with both the 35 ‘lux FLE and 75 ‘lux wide open. Changing the shutter to “soft” made a difference as well.
At 35mm and 90mm my hit rate was 100%, down to about 85% with the 75 ‘lux wide open. The inaccuracies with the 75mm were on difficult subject matter, which I purposely chose. With bright, contrasting edges, accuracy was 100%.
Having read numerous raves about the M9’s rendering, I was happy to see the same kind of difference in my shots that I saw in many of the others I’ve viewed over the last several months. I like it, but it’s not something I can put into words.
It’d take a thousand words for each shot with this camera anyway!
