Middling reach . . .

Having left the 70-300mm behind on this junket, 75mm is the longest lens in the bag. I had hoped to settle on some form of 135mm before leaving, but it didn’t happen.

A shop here has a 135mm Tele-Elmar-M that appears to be in great condition. But having been burned with another copy of the same lens not long ago, no dice. First choice, even though it’s APS-C, would be the 55-135mm TL. With a closer MFD than the older M lens, it also works well with an old Elpro that’s currently sitting idle.

A fast 135mm would be ideal, but they’re all either heavy, manual focus, or both. One could argue that the 75mm SL is sharp enough to crop to approximate the 135mm FL, but it’s not the same. So it’s either compromise or wait for the unicorn.

Might be a while . . .
