Out with the CL and Lumix 70-200mm/1.4X combo this morning, even though the CL didn’t pair well with the bare lens the other day, I had better luck with the extender attached. Overcast skies, less pollution, and almost no heat shimmer probably accounted for at least some of the improvement.
Assuming no fudging on the Lumix’s focal length at the long end, I compared it to the 90-280mm later in the day and found the SL lens to be a smidgen wider, as I would have guessed.
A 2X for the Lumix should be on the way to me shortly, and I’m eager to see if I get better performance out of this copy, or whether the CL just can’t AF at f/8.
It’s so great at everything else that I could forgive it for that . . .
