More to taste . . .

Finally a chance to shoot the Noctilux on familiar targets indoors came along. Able to compare with other glass, I will refrain from declaring better, worse, or same; let’s just say it’s a little bit more what I like. The lens has a characteristic I’ve not seen in any other fast glass in that only what one focuses on is truly in focus.

Next task is to find a way to focus it on the M9, as shots with the diopter are vexingly close without being critically accurate. The MS Optical viewfinder magnifier, which has a built in diopter, sucks just enough contrast so as not to make critical accuracy any easier. The only other option I can think of is to try the Leica 1.4X viewfinder magnifier.

Fingers crossed . . .
