Movin’ on . . .

Out in gloomy weather shooting with the RF 100-400mm without the 1.4X for a change, I got reminded of just how good the lens is. It should be fun to see how it does on the R10. According to more than one source, in spite of Canon’s claim that it has a “new” sensor, it’s just a reworked version of the one they use in the 80D and other bodies.

No problem from me about that, because I got good IQ from the 80D (AF at f/8 is another story) and a couple more bodies that have that sensor. Not the same with the 32mp sensor in the 90D, which may or may not be the same one being used in the current R7. I don’t have words to describe the noise signature other than that it’s similar to the a7r IV: palatable to some, but really unappealing to my eyes.

The last CL is gone to make way for the incoming. I know what you’re thinking, and you’re right. Yeah, I’m fickle about cameras. But once Leica’s veneer started to peel away, it quickly fell with a resounding thud.

No U-turn this time.
