No middle ground . . .

Weather went from doom, gloom, and rain for several days last week straight to bright sunshine this afternoon. On hot days like this, my little friends keep to the shade except for an occasional cooling dunk in the nearest pond. Moderate and bright overcast weather is what seems to make them more friendly and accessible.

More than two hours in the heat got me just one decent critter shot today, a young Oriental Magpie Robin who didn’t seem to notice the weather at all. But—with good tools, one shot is better than none.
