. . . it didn’t occur to me yesterday that I’d need a tripod collar to attach a strap to the 300PF and 2X—no fault of the camera mount, but rather a need to balance the weight on either side of the untrusted adapter. One is now on the way from the land of cheap accessories, at exactly 6% of the cost (including shipping 😏) of the Nikon one, also manufactured in the land of cheap accessories.
Therein lies my distaste for patronizing MIC products from Japan companies. Nothing to do with China, everything to do with being disinclined to contribute to Nikonysonic management’s windfall profits, impossible to totally avoid these days. But my first choice of MIC glass, were I to acquire any, would be from one of the DJ Optical storefronts, where QC is better and prices are much more reasonable.
