Old glass, new eyes . . .

Much as I love the look of the older Mandler lenses, a couple of days of shooting with the 23mm and 60mm TL lenses has given me a new appreciation of their capabilities. Don’t get me wrong; I always thought they were great. But as vastly a bird photographer, they were incidental rather than integral to my pursuits.

Especially now that wide angle to 90mm is mostly where I shoot, it’s been a pleasure trying things with these lenses that I’d never thought to try before. And with plenty of megapixels for crop mode use, these lenses can be purposeful if/when the need arises.

For now, though, it’s just fun. And searching for more!
