Shift . . .

Today’s entry was supposed to be about first impressions of the 250mm Telyt-R based on test shots. The test couldn’t be completed, however, due to two inches of rain falling in less than two hours in the exact area where I was trying to shoot.

Heavy rain here typically eases around the end of January or early February. Not this year. In the last couple of months, the six to eight usual inches per month have more than doubled in some areas.

As some of my shooting spots are close to neither transportation nor shelter, I’ve been caught in downpours five times in the past couple of weeks. That’s not the worst part. It’s the time wasted while waiting in one place for the rain to stop that galls me, especially not knowing how much longer I’ll have my current energy level and good health.

The good thing about photography is that there are many different pursuits through which one can enjoy it. Now seems like a good time to explore some of them.
