Something Different

Variety is the spice of life, and activities like bird chasing can grow bland when there is a lack thereof. Inability to travel, crowded parks pushing birds further into hiding, and seeing the same little beaks over and over all contribute to diminished interest during pandemic times.

But when what flew like a pair of F-86 jets blew past me overhead this morning, I knew I’d found something different. Blue-Crowned Hanging Parrots are common residents locally, but not easy to find perched for any length of time.

Fortunately I was able to keep them sighted until they perched, since I never would have spotted these smallish parrots (about five inches in length) without their movement.

Now that I know about that patch of land . . .
