An abbreviated outing this afternoon netted only a few shots, at least with slightly better light than I’ve had on previous days. While the camera’s tracking prowess is amazing, the lens struggled to keep up with the moderately erratic Little Terns. I think slow raptors may be its limit for BIF.
The local Canon office has managed to source a 100-500mm for me, and I hope to have it in my eager hands by the middle of next week, possibly sooner. That, along with at least half of my short walk being rain-free today, defined today as good.
Now if only Mother Nature would react to “please” and “thank you” as positively as Canon does . . .
