The market decides . . .

. . . or at least nudges. When all else is equal up in the air, sometimes an outside factor can determine the outcome. A 300mm PF and 2X caught my eye this morning while perusing the local B&S, and by 2:30 this afternoon I was shooting it in a known target area.

My Nikon F to Leica M adapter is pitted for 6-bit coding, but not coded. It caused some minor havoc when the M-Adapter-L couldn’t identify it, but I managed to twist it just right so that I could continue shooting. There’s a bit of rotational play at the back and I’m hoping that won’t be a problem after I color the coding into the pits.

It’ll be nice to have ~466mm of relative reach at f/4 on the CL, good for small birds—assuming I can find some to shoot. Hopefully the critter drought will ease as the monsoon season wanes over the next week or two . . .
